Get a paper clip and push out the plugs in your USB connector. If your USB connector cable is too short then get and extension cable. USB Color code vcc / 5v = red Ground = black white = -data green = +data Keep the wires separate for USB1 and USB2. Don't get you wires crossed between ports.

Okay, I may have to compromise on the Sound card. I have a SB Pro 2.0 with Yamaha OPL3 but it won’t play MIDI files in DOS mode. So I think I may have to go with an SB AWE32 or AWE64. I can go with Cirrus Logic or Tseng for ISA graphics.
