I can see why the solder job between the graphics chip and board would go bad as the graphics chip gets really HOT during operation. And the solder balls leave a large gap between the graphics chip and board. I ordered some NO-Clean FLUX and I am going to try to reflow the graphics chip first. …

Voodoo-3 3000 PCI Repair

I have (2) Voodoo-3 3000 PCI cards that are completely dead. No power. The bios does not even pick them up. I wish to repair. Does anyone know how this card gets it power ? What should I check ? There are some burn marks on the back of the card where it gets very hot when it did work.
