Currently I have my Voodoo 2 hooked up to a "test bench" instead of the CRT that I normally use. After installing the latest reference drivers, I installed gl quake and noticed scan lines on my screen when running it. Is this normal behavior on an LCD?

It just seems more authentic and comparable to the first game. It also runs much smoother on era-accurate hardware.

I found out part of what's causing the error. It turns out that something (probably one of the serial ports) is causing an issue with the sb16 emulation driver and is preventing it from loading correctly.

On my Windows 98 PC, after the machine finishes posting and as it loads into the Windows 98 splash screen, it makes a long beep noise before continuing to boot normally. Does anyone know what this is about? I believe it started happening after installing the Sound Blaster Live driver CD.

Yeah, the website spec sheet is completely wrong. Just looking a the manual(s) can show that all revisions use the the LX chipset. It does also help that I have the board in front of me 🤣

It does appear to be that way. 100 MHz FSB causes complete system instability, so I guess I'm stuck at 266 MHz 😢

I fixed my problem, switching to 66 MHz FSB allows me to change the clock speed

I set the FSB to a 100 MHz mode that is certainly not standard for this chipset and a 4x multiplier.

On my Gigabyte GA-636LX3, I have a 400 MHz PII that is only being detected as 200 MHz. While I know the board I am using does not officially support clock speeds over 366 MHz, switching the jumpers on the board does not seem to make a difference. The Windows 3.1 version of Lode Runner: The Legend Returns There is also a version of Myst for Win 3.1 (uses a 16 bit executable instead of 32 bit), but I have never actually played it.

When I go to install GTA4 on any other PC, it always asks for a release date check. I go through with it and the date check always fails. In order to make it work, I set my system calendar to a few years earlier than it is, that way the date check will pass, so maybe you need to set your system …
