As long as I won't play "rhythm nation" there shouldn't be any problem 😀 ... and about the magnetics - the speaker is placed far enough from the HDD.

I've seen that recent LGR video where he had those as separate units and the "sub-woofer" actually had more treble and less bass than the main stereo speakers. So, how terrible are those that you got? In the 90s I used to have such speakers but these "speakers" were more like "squeakers" (non HIFI) …

Oh dear, so it's only an "speaker out", "line in" and "microphone input" - I have ben asking because another vogon fellow just told my to be cautious with the ouput lines not to fry the internal amplifier ...

It's not the internal settings I am worried about (cause unchanged), but I wouldn't like to fry the internal amplifier of the case by connecting it to the wrong Output.

I'd like to stay striktly period correct (I have some of these named cards here in stock). e.g. for a y2k-PC I'd rather use only parts produced in 2000 than someting else ... if possible. 😉

You should be able to use a male to male 3.5mm cable and go from either the line out or speaker out of the sound card to the speaker Jack on the case and the same for the microphone.
