Yeah, the compact mobos are cool in their own way. I really like the Trident VLB VGA, even S3 does a bit better in Doom, which is the test that actully matters, i am still using the Trident one as the main video card in the rig. Run some tests if you have the time - any info like tht is well …

Great stuff there. Thanks for the effort. The results are too low. Wonder what is causing it ? For example, Doom readings here are almost double yours.

The video card is ok-ish. An average performer. It has 4Mb of memory. Travelling at the moment and cannot remember what was the other port, but you are probaby right - an LPT one. The main issue with it is that it messes up picture size and aspect ratio on some LCDs. Never tried it with pvr tomb …

@noshutdown I think the S3 drivers are limited to 8-bit color on Windows 3.1, but can handle higher color depths in Win95 or later. At least that's what i see here, but i can be wrong. Will be great if somebody else can confirm. @kixs Thanks for the info. Really good stuff.

The partial graphics performance tests we do around here often skew reality, but what i am seeing in my own tests shows that ISA CL in Win3.1x are faster than S3 928, ET4000w32 and Tridents. S3 928 is actually faster than CL, but cannot get it to run in 16-bit colors. Do you have this particular …

These options won't affect render times. For convenience, you can set the VIBRANT driver to the resolution you plan to render at, this way you won't have to adjust the settings every time before running a render. You are using device driver to show pixels on screen, so file formats don't matter. …
