I missed that part. Find an utility that does it for you as we will not accept set /p. I don't know one, but maybe someone else does.

set /P is not a DOS command. it's a command prompt extension that we will not support. use the command "choice" like you would have in DOS.

dosbox.conf in the same folder as dosbox.exe will override the user profile one. So you can still use that if you prefer that.

Short version: it changes certain flags when programs call directx, which results in more compatible behaviour. long version: it does more, but read the source, it's included.

the development package includes that file. So maybe the location in the sdl-config script is wrong (you can simply edit that one with a text editor)

you have to build it or get sdl-dev package. You can use our improved versions when running it

you can do it the same way as you did in the DOS days. (it's a table in the emulated memory, easy to change with an utility or TSR) However you can't do weird resolutions as 11x12

midi is not adlib. Lei is totally correct about that. So there is no false information involved at all. Yes, you can play midi samples on an adlib device (using an appropriate driver), but that doesn't mean they are the same.
