it is not a real problem. the thing is they use a function we don't support. (stop drawing the screen), while they redraw the menu. So you see it 2 times.

well you can boot msdos inside DOSBox. then 0x24 will be triggered ofcourse. I don't think there is a 100% foolproof way of detecting that you run under DOSBox. (anybody can change the source afterall) However you can check the bios copyright string for the name DOSBox or check the vesa vendor Or …

with disk images it is supported. with mounted drives it is not. (as games don't use it). Then again dosbox will never trigger an int 0x24 So to make it clear. with normal mounted drives int 0x13 ah=2 is not supported, as no games uses it. try something like int 0x21 ah=0x36 for various drives. be wary of floppies though. Those are always special.

you want to check for a DOS drive and check at BIOS level... Are you sure that that is best way ? (hint no games uses this) There are things like partitions and such in DOS as well.

well buttonwrap it is. anyway with buttonwrap=false you can use the mapper or a program (xpadder) to map the buttons to keys. joysticks in dos only support 4 buttons. That is how dos worked. We can't emulate more because games don't understand them

to be honest we don't care much for bug reports that are caused by running dosbox in the non -default configuration. ripsaw pointed out it works in the default configuration. so there is no problem.

are you sure you are first mounting the cue and then trying the mixer control ? (mixer control from the commandline in dosbox, not the one in the game)

if you can compile dosbox, it might be interesting to determine why that larger prebuffer is needed at your place. Futher could you try if blocksize 8192 helps as well ? (maybe with a lower prebuffer)

dunno if mailing us is the solution. Problem seem all to originate from people using pulse audio in combination with libsdl in combination with dosbox. as dosbox + sdl works fine on windows and with non-pulse audio combinations. I am inclined to think that the problem is not entirely ours to solve. …
