well I don't own the game. I recently fixed a bug related to the cdrom label emulation (more like a quirk of real mscdex/dos not giving the same answer). You might want to try a cvs build of dosbox to see if that bug had anything to do with daggerfal as well.

joysticks in the dos era in general had only a few axis and buttons. No things like rudders.

crimewave is odd. I think it was one of the testing games when creating the real sound emulation a long long time ago. I must admit that I haven't tried it recently.

imgmount can work with localpaths as well: mount y "very long path to where all the isos are stored" imgmount d y:\iso1 y:\iso2 etc etc mount -u y

i think the 134 limit is actually a dos limit then a dosbox specific limit. Something with the size of the arguments that are stored somewhere before starting an executable.

yeah i noticed it as well the (new) owner of linuxdevel.net changed his dns provider. The server is still there. "just" the name doesn't work. Maybe i'll add a dns entry to dosbox.com for it

i was thinking of having border emulation in machine=ega. possibly with that blending of yours. I don't know of vga only games that rely on the bordercolour for functionality.

i think the troubleshooting section tells you that you should use a default configuration file for dosbox. Running a certain game closes DOSBox, crashes with some message or hangs: - see if it works with a default DOSBox installation (unmodified configuration file)

-exit only works if you speficy an executable to run. (not with -c . for example dosbox -c "mount d d:\ -t cdrom" c:\demo\demo.exe -exit ) for your case (with only -c's): -c "exit"
