it's not totally correct. I think it works on all oses except for 2 : os2 and windows. So for all the other oses it works. 2 small exceptions don't really count do they 😉

if you don't know what it means that you don't use it 😉 Seriously. It are linux abbriaviations used in the linux shell a lot. Now they work inside dosbox as well. (only if you are on linux).

it's a binary patch/wrap to add that check. I'm no law expert either, but I have no problems with it. Afterall they have to protect their stuff as well

you are correct. The only workaround (aside from coding those switches) is booting a diskimage of a version of dos inside dosbox. That gives you acces to that diskimages commandline interpreter. (see the boot command for the syntax)

they seem to be using a special build of 0.70 The size and md5sum doesn't match the executable of 0.70.

true, tape_worm is the moment of crashing identical for 0.70 ? and/or do you have dep enabled on your system ?
