possibly. Mapper related things (under which the joystick falls) can currently not be changed correctly during runtime. Nothing you can do about it.

Boot a booter image automagically in DosBox when you drag and drop (or give parameter). Done. Offcourse you still have to set cga mode and cycles and such yourself using the configfile.

as experiment: before starting that SGD run command.com See what happends. The sounds. Well 1/2 a second isn't "caused" by dosbox. dosbox it's buffers are much smaller. You might want to look into the emulator you are running to see if they have anything for it.

ignore the 16513 that is the total "size" of the hdd you will get 880 MB in marketing terms 😉

I don't know how it went in real dos either. I know that there is some interrupt that parses commandlines/batch file lines. The started program from a batchfile doesn't get the filehandle of the batchfile. We now arange that by setting the non-inherit flag. It might be that the file was actually …

-t cdrom doesn't do anything fancy. (currently) game probably acces the files in an inefficient way.

I doubt that 16:0 is the one you want. Afterall that is an mpu401 in uart mode and that is the thing that dosbox emulates. So you are chaining 2 after each other.
