the major difference is that the dosbox.conf variable usescancodes is set to true. if you set it to false it might work better for you.

uhm you might need to specify a disklabel and perharps even some more settings did you try every possible mount option in intro cdrom ?

well that last error means dosbox executed rubbish so something is going wrong. it might be fixable, it might not. probably you can't do a thing about it though. Although you could try loadfix -d before starting the game (and increase memory) error 8 means insufficient memory

well I experience the opposite. When going to new game. I can only select a game allready in use. Not one of the unused books.

preferable no settings in the configfile. Or were switches on joysticks to set the resistance common in the good old days.

it needs to be tested with a few older games as well. most of the tests here are with new games. (and rcblanke reported at least one problem with the settings with an older game).

yeah I remember that it wasn't very clean either. If you have a proper way to do it, then it would be helpful. Although There aren't that many games that support multiple cd's (I don't own one). But perharps I stopped collecting when they were popular. 😀

uhm range configurable will not make it into the official CVS. I'm very conservative about options in there. In your patch you speak of 24.2 ms + some formula. isn't that very long ? (The timeout used by dosbox (mostly for loderunner) is 10 ms)

that is probably a working method. We have created our own high resolution timer that way as well. (by scheduling in smaller amount of cycles if a timer event has to happen within that millisecond sdl offers us) Else you might see if you can make that delay function of yours a bit more cycle …

yes. our current joystick code has only one timeout. after certain amount of time the joystick will always be zero. but this is the oposite of you want. The current code is not safe with different amount of cycles. Especially amounts of 40000 were not considered when we created that code. (my pc …
