Calm down people. I'm sure that you are both doing it for the best of all of us. I do get tired of newbie questions every now and then and I'm sometimes temped to give an answer like GraigG. But then again this is the most basic forum of dosbox. IT might be more approiate at the development forum

simple mode "won't work" what do you mean by that ? I recall that simple mode would switch to normal if a game like this is encountered. (as it's paging game) Things to try: Set emulated memorysize to 64 mb run fullscreen

uhm well there exists a patch for dosbox which adds printing support. However it doesn't work against the current source. You need an older version of the dosbox source, apply the patch and compile dosbox. It should do marvels.

hunterZ if you use a real cd. it should work with lowlevel mount options as well mount d w:\ -t cdrom -ioctl should do the trick as well. (as it's then able to extract the label from the cdrom. (at least at my place)) no label will will break the game. so it's easy to test. :-) iso has a different …

yes. an uninitialized variable might be the case. (or as experience teaches us...... vs.net creating broken code.)

use cvs and set a label when mounting the cdrom. (and a real cdrom) (any label will do) Will fix the non-label and the iso variant once the cvs servers get up again.

if you mean the resource.cfg "hack" then it's okay i think as you don't modify the executables. it should be posted in the dosbox games thing. and be linked from that overview thread at the start. put in the end it's Snovers call

dosbox it's dos doesn't accept "weird" characters in filenames. Try booting a dos version.
