Well are you certain you are playing it with dosbox ? as it tends to happen if you don't use dosbox.

well as laptop in general have problems with displaying dosgames your only options are emulators wether you like it or not. emulators make the display of the games more windows and laptop friendly

hmm some link to freeware program ? or a complete name of an application. as if it worked in 0.58 then we might be able to find out why it fails in 0.63

found it. if the startup directory is read-only then the file handles that are opened for the -noconsole option fail as well. (the stdin and stdout files) The screenshot file is then first file open and is treated as stdin when a log messages apears. A potentially risky situation. implemented a fix …

hmm it's a weird bug it seems like the stdout is overwritten or so. very odd. It's easy to circumvent in the code. but i don't understand why it happens

uhm dosemu has lot's videodrivers installed I think it writes directly to your screen. (i think).

It's a bug. a simple fix would be to change the captures directory in dosbox.conf to a writable location. but it's a bug and hopefully i will not forget to fix it.

for non-self modyfing code it is possible. but it would require some recoding though. The dynamic core isn't written with debugging in mind the best way to debug it is to simply remove instructions from it till the game works. then check that instruction. btw the games don't work in normal core ? …

I'm a bit afraid that people will use 16 bit vesa support and then complain that dosbox is so slow while they should have used 8 bit vesa support.

well ishar 3 works at my place. we are getting there. While browsing through the compatibility listing at the website I'm amazed about the amount of "supported" games. Lately I've been working on getting some industrial applications up and running. So those are getting closers as well.

red_avatar are you using the cvs ? else it will not work. There are many changes in the cvs that contribute to the stability of windows in enhanched mode. including soundblaster sound
