I just tried it. civ.exe select vga select soundblaster select mouse+keyboard press esc press with mouse new world then intro starts

I personally am not a big fan of having cvs binearies in the same location as the stable dosbox. I would suggest that you contact rjpa. hunterZ take a look at http://pcnwstage.phys.rug.nl/dosboxcvs.txt for a changelog since the latest release. created the same way though. just using different dates i think.

Compatibility changes between version. so do the exact commands/ behaviour of them differ. Zed not working anymore ??? hmm cdrom game. Try some cdrom flags. (many things got changed in the cdrom emulation. (behaviour of certain flags changed as well))

I live under the impression that harekiet coded some intelligence into the scaling routines... I recall being told that hwscale and regular scale work together to achieve the goal. Would have to look it up to be sure though (so incase there is hardware scaling avaible it would scale 2x when normal 2 …

uhm harddrives are tricky as some programs of certain authors (borland /microsoft) keep their searches open and resume them. updating the data would be bad for that. Anyway the whole caching is idea is going away. Harekiet and I are busy redisigning the whole structure.
