Seems to a different error I would recommend changing the sound configuration of privateer. futher you could check if the resource.cfg points to reasonable locations. as C:\privat~1 is probably not present in resource.cfg

large build doesn't matter. It's debug info and with gcc has that little to no impact on performance you can remove it by doing a strip dosbox.exe

yes that's right candacow coded an oak videocard in it. that one has much simpeler hardware accelerations.

dosbox emulates a s3 trio (searching the forum might help) specialized drivers do not work as we didn't implement hardware acceleration of the s3. Neither will we add them at short notice.

you are doing a subst e: c: so you don't mount a d:\ in dosbox. so the game will not touch your cdrom drive. if you mount your music cdrom you probably must add some lowlevel switch as well. (see intro cdrom)

there is a patch for it on sourceforge. I personally don't see use for it as it wasn't part of the original msdos.

ctrl-chars do not produce proper things. I see no use for it. It's only difficult to maintain in the shell (think of what happens if you press delete )

dosbox doesn't care about the nature of the mouse as long as the mouse is recognised by sdl dosbox turns it into a ps2 mouse
