C) well you have acces to autoexec.bat just take a look at your nice dosbox.conf especially at the bottom. But the idea of the keyb.com in the configfile like layout=fr is something planned for version 0.65 We allready have a working design for that. We will release 0.63 shortly to fix some apparent …

you are missing the point. We are emulating a dos machine platform independed as a dos machine is. not how you expierence it on other dos emulators. therefore : c) keyboard dos always runs in the qwerty layout as does dosbox. You have 2 options: Either you map the keyboard ((ctrlf-1) to a us layout) …

it's responsibility of the package maintainer to include one. Some distro's come with a default configfile.

well ~/.dosboxrc is used if dosbox.conf is not present to use $HOME stuff and alike use your envirioment DOSBOX_SECTION_OPTION=value. so: DOSBOX_CPU_CPUCYCLES=6000 dosbox would set the cpu cycles to 6000

d) yes c) dosbox is controlled by a configfile specified as startup parameter or present in pwd there you can modify all parameter which results in modified z:\ files.

start in real/standard mode. but dosbox can run 3.1 itself. no need to boot dos 6.0

write permissions could be indeed be the cause. But i fixed some error with pascal not being able to create backup files. But i thought appart from that that it worked so i would guess that permissions is indeed a good point to check.

you could try running the game without vdmsound to determine wether vdmsound is to blame. but in reality dos games run on resolution like that. (blame your lcd for not correctly supporting low level resolutions) you can do nothing about it. (well run them in a emulator that emulates the videocard as …

well dosbox does like the later emm386 and qemm manager a sort of sharing. Anyway try 0.61 as i lowered in 0.62 the amount of memory you can have to 63 mb but a game wanting that much memory will probably not run very fast.

Remind me of testing it.. I rewrote devices support so the problems described in the first section (missing nul + opening of it on number 1) should be fixed. (except it they start it like this nomad.exe >nul )

you need to look at the files in dosbox/src/shell/ But please don't simply post the code of another program there. Dosbox has it's own dos and you have to code to its standards.
