Maybe one cable is mounted backwards? In any event I have never had a working rll drive, all the mfms still work great but RLLs always seem to be crapped out for some reason Good Luck

I managed to kill a Unisys 286 when I tried to LL format the rll hard drive, why it went poof during the start of the process I will never know but even a new psu and video wouldn’t get a post

30pin SIMMs only come in 256KB, 1MB, 4MB and 16MB varieties. Single sided 72pin ones are 1MB, 4MB, 16MB, 64MB (and 256MB) and double sided ones are twice the single sided ones, filling the inbetweens. I used Windows 95 on a Dtk 386sx25 w/4mb as a business backup. Things ran slowly but reliabily the few times I had to use the system

I’ve been looking for an old Gateway dimension monitor to mod as a vintage gaming crt for a while Too bad, back in the day my school junked a dozen of them at that point I saw no value in them 🙁

This brings back the memories of the seemingly infinite time between the pii233 release and the pii300 of the original generation. Further the rarity of the systems at release A 300 66mhz fsb should work fine as it’s in the same family As should a 333 despite it being the next generation

3.3 volt edo dimms are rare sorta like 5 volt sdram So I doubt it’s an issue

I had an older 286 that required you to run a bios program when you changed the memory quantity, You had to manually enter the amount of base and extended memory save and exit. If memory serves the Simms could only be used as extended memory which meant weird things since it only had 512kb of base …

64mb+ simms were extraordinarily rare and $1000+ a stick when these systems were released many times they had support before the Simms were being sold meaning it can be hit or miss Usually 128mb Simms aren’t fully standard, so if your board supports odd memory types you might be good but no way to …

Socket 370 should have never existed, celeron should have been socket 8 and the socket improved over time like super 7. Also 486 class should have gotten the Pentium fpu and bus speed increases.
