DOS drivers for AV305 AudioExcel CMI8328

Hello guys, I am searching any DOS drivers for AV305 AudioExcel with CMI8328 chip (by C-Media?). I searched the internet in different parts of the world, but it seems like the card never existed. I already tried CMI8330 drivers, but they don't work as also mentioned here https://lwn.net/Articles/ …

Re: Waverider32+ WAVETIDE Program Aborted!

Hi guys, sorry for touching the old thread. However, I also got my hands on one of of this cards and have a question, may be you can answer. I got SB/FM up and running and this seem to work well, however using GM I ran into problems. The WAVETIDE.EXE started properly, but first I didn't get any GM …

Yeah, with it being licensed, I think I'm going to have to bow out as well. This kinda verges on paranoia, but... technically... if I download your code (whether I ever do anything with it or not), I can't just go figure it out myself and claim to have done so in a clean room. The solution is …

I opened my work under GPL3 on github, if somebody wants to contribute or to try it. Feel free Just copy my code. Mine is already in the public domain, yours is infected by GPL3. I prefer not to start the license discussion, if you don't mind. I'd like only to add, that opening the code under GPL …

Oh, yes, sure. That was stupid from me, I overseen somehow, that you are talking about SAA1099s WR, which can be grounded. I see. It would be nice to tinker with different revisions, but, as I told, unfortunately I have only the one. It happens sometimes. I personally own only two revisions, a "Rev …

That would mean, that the FlipFlop would never get its clock. Are you sure? That would mean, that your solution would also have an issue with that.... Yes, I am sure. FF clock is not connected to the SAA1099's /WR pin. FF clock is connected to pin 19 of the GAL which is derived from the /WR line ( …

And unfortunately, there are SB2.0 revisions which have the /WR pins of SAA1099 chips grounded. That would mean, that the FlipFlop would never get its clock. Are you sure? That would mean, that your solution would also have an issue with that.... I have two questions about your schematics, first, …

As I told, I have an old 386sx and I tested that with turbo off (around 7MHz). I got an awful sound with clicking and pulled notes. I could improve the sound quality by ignoring WR signal when setting the CS. I am a software developer and couldn't leave the software in that shape, so I also cleaned …

Re: SB 2.0 CT1350 CMS chips dumped

hehe  ok, then I'll have to get one first. That 386sx is the slowest one, I have. However, with turbo off it's around 8088 by 8 MHz, may be it is already enough?! The closer it is to an 8088 4.77MHz, the better the game sounds. I am curious what causes this behavior, but there is no motivation …

You need it tested on a non-A? I might be able to help with that. I have a SB 1.5 and a 2.0 early revision, but I have not had any luck finding a 1336A variant yet. Everything I've seen for sale in the last couple months is the early rev. I don't have an EEPROM burner yet (haven't gotten around to …

I just published the code here: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=66361 Don't visit the thread until you locate the other issues. I kept the code closed-source mainly for one reason - to get my eBay seller's feedback from zero to some higher numbers. There are some projects I will be ready …

This feels like an old good quest and, funny enough, I tested the CMS by using Monkey Island :) Please don't post your code yet, I'm curious about the other issues and would love to tackle them either. I'd love to hear what kind of problems that would be now. Anyway, thank you for letting us know, …

Oh guys, not everybody at once please! Anyway, after 100€ for parts, more than one month of waiting for delivery and about 5 hours of tinkering, I have a working solution. I tested it on two cards with CT1366A an both work just fine. The difference is quite marginal, but it took some time to …

Ah, just looked at YM3812 pinout pin5 on GAL corresponds to WR on YM3812 and is also hardwired to pin1 of both SAA1099P. Ok, don't understand yet, why pin5 is then needed to switch CS in the equations pin15/16 at all.

Hi guys, yesterday I finally got all the hardware required to analyze this. I ordered everything in China and it takes forever to get it. However, I spent today already some time to look at it and, so far, it makes at least a lot of fun :) Anyway, if I burn the well known equation to the GAL, I …
