Re: What are you eating/drinking? (the vogons food thread)

I have never had caviar from sturgeon. But a good number of English food websites, call them caviar. They are lumpfish egg's. They taste like fresh clean sea and have a crunchy texture to them. I paid the equivelant to one and a half Dollar (1,5 USD) for 50 gram. They usually cost double, so they …

Those are nice NewYear dishes.... As for me, I was mainly in the kitchen. And I only managed to grab one picture of the food. It was the starter, before taking pictures became irellevant because of how busy cooking got. This starter were a bit of fine sliced iceberg salad. Then some smoked salmon. …

Re: The Force Engine (Dark Forces Port)

So, yeah, how do I change "the values in fraq shaders files"? This post details things, though it does not read like a fix, more like a workaround: https://the-force-engine.freeforums.net/thread/165/linux-gpu-render-green-color PS. I updated my 32-bit XPmod port yesterday. Now managed to make it …

Re: The Force Engine (Dark Forces Port)

I get this kind of color glitches if I select hardware rendering. Green instead of white on the trooper, and also some other colors on the walls and the sky. Is there a fix for that? Still prefer it as there is perspecive correction in this mode. I play on a laptop with Iintel HD Graphics 4000. IMG …

Re: The Force Engine (Dark Forces Port)

BTW, I remember there were rumors that Dark Forces used the reverse engineered Doom engine as a base. That's one of the reasons they never released the source code. Now that the engine is reverse engineered, are there any grounds for this kind of gossips? Or the opposite, it's became obvious that it …

Re: The Force Engine (Dark Forces Port)

Huge thanks to the creators! This is so cool to finally have this mod. Works perfectly in software mode, and I enjoyed the gameplay very much. However there were some minor glitches in OpenGL mode. But as there is no visual difference with software mode, it's not an issue at all. Just wonder if …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

I've been experimenting with ESS based cards in Windows 9x to see how they support Sound Blaster/Adlib in DOS games. The cards I tested were Ratoc REX-5572, Eiger and Panasonic KXL-D745/D20. The quick result is that Panasonic is the best card. The long report is as foloows. I've tested the cards on …

Re: Newly made PCMCIA sound card

Finally I've read through the thread today. If I understand correctly, what you're doing is: 1. config IO ports to SB (220/240etc), and preferable IRQ (5/7) on your card, game directly talk to it. 2. monitor DMA controller register status via TSR (timers), when DMA happens, the TSR records the DMA …

Re: Newly made PCMCIA sound card

again, i should reiterate I do not know what I am doing or saying. my understanding is that those other tsr's are using some kind of ioport trapping which I know nothing about. also i thought the main issue was they could only be used with applications that do not enter protected mode but were okay …
