Re: Newly made PCMCIA sound card

You would want the OPL3 over the general midi chip? I have some OPL3s & da's on order will that will arrive soon, my initial plan was to make an OPL3 card, until another user pointed out this dream.dr midi chip And what about having both? But if I had to chose, personally I'd prefer to have a GM …

Re: Newly made PCMCIA sound card

Has there been any progress on this or any new interest? I replied in the HardMPU thread but thought I would post here. I am about to create a card that implements a "hardmpu" and pairs it to the dream.fr 2695 midi chip. Has anybody already done something like this that I can avoid re-inventing the …

Also, i'm not sure if it was you, but you (or someone else) pointed to "yahoo auctions" for looking for things like an SCP-55 PCMCIA soundcard and a such, but after some googling it seems that there are only 4 yahoo marketplaces all for asian countries. Which one should I look at ? The japanese one …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

That is weird, I had that exact card without the cdrom drive and sound was working fine with the S16 drivers. It eventually worked without the CD unit with the original driver. I just should not have removed the switches of the driver related to cd-rom in config.sys. As for the S16 drivers, I did …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Are the PCMCIA controller drivers loaded as well? My CD-ROM drive didn't get detected unless all 3 PCMCIA drivers were loaded then it detects the drive. Yes, I tried all 3 drivers (CS, SS and resource map utility). That card matrix is amazing thank you for putting it together! All of these cards …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Tested the EXP Multimedia kit that I bought NOS recently. Works flawlessly in DOS, does not require CS and SS if the PCMCIA controller is Intel 82365-compatible. But the stupid thing is that sound does not work if the CD-ROM is not connected. The driver just does not load, complaining that CD unit …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Thanks so much for the reply. I was so close to buying the WAVJammer. You just saved me fifty bucks! I just tried to install that driver on my t41. Now I am no longer getting any sound in Windows at all, and I get a pop-up with the message "3Com EuSynth: ADI/ICH Hardware not prsent. 3Com EuSynth …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Thanks but what am I looking for in that link? I see a bunch of drivers but I don't see anything on that page about Sound Blaster emulation? As for a PCMCIA sound card, there's a Wavjammer on eBay. Would that get me Sound Blaster sound? You need the Audio driver there. If it's not installed on your …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Hey all! I am in the need for a PCMCIA card that will give me audio in old DOS games and Windows 98 as well. I am using an old ThinkPad T41 that natively runs Windows 98 and has 2 PCMCIA card slots. Does such a card exist? I apologize if it's a dumb question; the OP is really confusing to my …
