I thought about it and am sure, that I am not willing to use such modern hardware like ivy Bridge or so. Then a GTX 590 would work pretty well in XP? I own a GA-P67 UD5 with a i5-2500k and a GeForce 1050 ti. It's working with windows 10. I never considered to run XP on this system... I will think about it.

With support I was able to solve the problem. For everyone, who runs into the same issue: I am using a Soundblaster 16 (CT1740). There are problems with mpu-401 Interface. It can be fixed with a patch file from creative: sbmpufix - everything runs fine now.

No. I don't mean the talkie version. I just mean effects like the breaking glass when Indy first appears in the intro.. and so on... For now it is not possible to hear both Roland mt32 music and those effects. Monkey island has the same problem until a patch is applied.
