Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

Omnibook Xe3 "GF" (Intel Pentium 3/Celeron, Intel 830MG graphics (??) I have just attached SIV 5.43 Beta-03 to https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=68756 and on W2K it should report your HP as HP OmniBook XE3 GC , does it? The GF must be a later model that uses one of the Intel 830 chipsets …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

Anyways, here is what you requested. Thank you and sorry for the delay in replying, you having notebooks reminded me I have a Margi Display-to-go 4MB and I have been getting SIV to correctly report it's clocks. https://www.vogons.org/download/file.php?id=70767 The test SIV worked as I hoped and the …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

(By the way, do you know where I can find a driver for a I have no idea why the DIMM aren't being reported (even CPU-Z won't report the SPD data for some reason, haven't tried AIDA nor HWiNFO32), I do know that they are both 128MB (if I'm not mistaken, there are two of them so 256/2 = 128) I guess …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

I'm stuck with laptop systems. OK and it's good that you are testing SIV on elderly laptops. I am still puzzled as to why SIV could not read the DIMM SPD data when you ran WXP on it though. I tried SIV on a Savage/MX and the clocks were wrong so I have adjusted the code. Please will you try the …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

there is a possibility that I get one of these "Magma PCMCIA to PCI chassis" Given the price would it not be cheaper to get a P-III desktop system? I have SIV reporting my S3 Savage4 Pro-M , but there are 86C394/5/6/7/8 chips I should test SIV on and I can't even find the chip ID of the 86C398 . …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

Here are the logs: Thank you for running this and all the other tests. I am relieved SIV is finally working as it should and checking [GPU Info] all looks as I would expect. Do you know of any other utilities that report the S3 Trio64V2/DX clock speeds and if so does SIV report the same values …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

Sure thing, here goes: Thank you and my suspicion was correct :-D, I instantly got the crash which was down to a combination of an oversight in the Intel 430VX chipset support and some setup code not being defensive. I have just attached SIV 5.43 Beta-02 to http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=46 …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

Unfortunately, SIV BETA01 didn't work as well, I'm still getting the same error. Thank you, it looks like it's going wonky trying to figure out what the CPU is. After pondering this I suspect I could use a CPUZ save file to run SIV in test mode and recreate the issue here, please will you generate …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

Do you think that there could be a driver that would interfere with SIV and cause it to crash? Without a SIV_DBGOUT.log file it's impossible to sensibly comment as to what it might be. If it's down to a driver you installed it should also affect Beta-00, does it? I just tried SIV32L 5.43 Trio-01 on …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

So something must be going on with this version of SIV... Thank you for checking out the new SIV, please can you confirm that it's SIV32L 5.43 Beta-00 what you are trying to run? I have just successfully run this on one of my Windows 9x systems so it must be an issue unique to your system. I can …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

I really like the realtime CPU & GPU usage and power draw monitors on the main screen. I've only been running it on retro systems so far, so I didn't realize it could do that. Thank you for checking it out on your Windows 7 x32 system, I don't get many reports from W7 x32 at all and even less from …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

Unfortunately I was hoping this would just be a 'just boot the CD & test' solution, but it doesn't seem to work that way. Mini-XP uses a bunch of generic drivers for hardware (such as the GPUs) so it doesn't show any info. Oh well. Thank you for checking out SIV on Mini-XP. Thinking about this I …

Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + Matrox + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Help needed with testing

I do have a S3 Trio64V2-DX on my P133 machine, but unfortunately it is non-functional (one of the VRMs overheats and starts behaving erratically) at the moment :( In the meantime, as you may know, I have the Omnibook with a SavageIX already, so that's already something I could test if SIV …
