I couldn't find a picture of the internals at the moment, but maybe you can bypass the internal power supply and just use a fitting external one

afaik a VGA gpu outputs those resolutions with double-scan to accomodate 31kHz monitors, so it should be fine.

I remember on one board I just had to disable the PC speaker and the sound was fine ^^ with PC speaker enabled you had all the thinking noises.
