I am installing Windows 2000 now in another hard disk, Wester Digital Caviar 40GB. So I will try this different operative system and changing hard disk can exclude the problem that the other Seagate "could" have. I will let you know immediately.

what version of the 4in1 drivers are you installing? the latest is not always the best when in comes to the via 4in1 driver - for my 591Ps I always install v4.35 and I never faced an issue that is the FIRST one version that I have tried. If I enable UDMA system slow down, like really irresponsive.
