Re: PatchMaker: an easy patch solution.

Your efforts are appreciated, but what advantage does this offer over xdelta? No idea, but PM is small, simple and runs under DOS. It's nothing like patch or diff assuming xdelta is similar. EDIT: I did a quick scan on the instructions, I think you can run this on a 8086/8088. oh nice , a DOS byte- …

Lagaf Les Aventures de Moktar, no sound effects

Hello 2021 :D Nothing better to do on new years day I was playing around with Moktar. The sound effects are not audible in the disk version of this game, and its extremely fast. I've asked around and the later cd-rom version does not have this problem. Then I tried reducing the speed to 1500 and 750 …

Re: Turbo C++ 4.5 - Windows 3.11

@Akuma, I bet you used the default root folder installation. The problem is an odd one, as a root folder will always work for the installation but fails completely when you use a subfolder as destination. And only fails in DOSBox, not a real machine. It ended up in C:\TC45 or something like that …

Re: "DOS Subsystem for Linux"?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBsv-jRiIT8 Wow...you made a custom sound card for PC104...that is an insanely great retro home project. Nice work! No, I just stumbled over this during my Doscember bingewatch. I thought it might be interesting to like-minded people around here. In retrospect the …

Re: Sound Driver Pack

What a find, Akuma! Easter eggs like this a rare glimpse into behind the scenes; I find them very interesting :-) Anyone know of other "communication" type messages in other DOS games? (Feels like this could deserve its own thread!) Calvero pointed to a website that covers that :D "2 BE OR NOT PC" …
