I did that but the MCA bus doesn't have -5V. The same goes for the PW_GOOD and the +5VSB pins. http://www.interfacebus.com/IBM_MCA_PinOut.html

I have a problem with posting, about 1/4 of my posts disappear when I push the Submit button. I use the quick reply, write the post and submit but sometimes it doesn't appear in the topic and I have to write and post it again even though it says my post was successful. Edited to add more info.

I only deal with socket 3 and below so my noisiest cooler is the PSU fan. I find anything above socket 370 too young for me. Maybe in 10 years.

Thanks, I already got a CLCC-PGA converter socket but those mainboards are super rare (here). I haven't seen a PGA socketed 286 mainboard in months. All my boards take PLCC chips. Besides the $25 minimum order (+taxes&shipping) is pointless when you need a single .99 piece.

Finding a CLCC68 socket is nearly impossible. I've been trying to get one for my MBL80286-8 for weeks, no luck. A CLCC-PLCC converter socket doesn't even exist as far as I can tell even though there are pictures of it online. If you have this package you are better off making a socket yourself. …

Is the green wire the PS_ON? It is called CTL on the power supply's PCB.

The main problems are under U52, U55, and U59. There is so much green gunk that it's nearly impossible to tell what traces go and where. Most of these traces are already dissolved an you only see the lacquered outlines. Cleaning removes these as well. Removing the affected ICs are probably …

For the future, never plug it in with that kind of damage. Half of the pins are probably shorted and powering it up in that condition just gets power to all the wrong places. That board looks far gone IMO and I've repaired a ton of acid damaged boards.
