If it was a copper core and not aluminum would be more inclined to think it may be ok. Oh and the 1Mb cache versions make lots more heat than Intel Pentiums. 44watt TDP versus 16watt for Pentium 200 MMX. just a comparison....

To me does not look anywhere big enough core area to cover even 1/2 core and 1/2 cache, you want at least 2" diameter core (if round) to cover both. The lid is 2.25" long..... refer to the pictures from Intel

What RTC chip does it currently have ? The manual says "Dallas RTC" and jumper S2 is for cmos clear so most likely a DS1287A or variant. The picture at The Retro web shows a Benchmark rtc which would be a bq3287A.

Hmmm somewhere there is a doc that explains the diff between MS, Logitech and Mouse system protocols and only MS was the most backward/forward compatible iirc. Just thinking outloud.... I use only MS serial mice on my vintage gear, never have a problem... but that is just my experience.

Yeah do not replace the fuse with a resistor. Some older KB draw near 300mA is why typical design is for 500mA iirc. Those fuses are typically a 1amp slow blow but any 1amp will work. most newer ps2 KB draw about 100mA (aka 47ohm so with a 47ohm in series would only get 2.5v and limited to 50mA) but …

Agree !! On DB15 VGA port there are the H sync and V sync clocks (pins 13 and 14) both which can be checked with a fairly low end oscilloscope.... example of two 800x600 VESA modes 800 x 600 37.9Hkhz 60.0Vhz 40.0PCmhz and 800 x 600 46.9Hkhz 75.0Vhz 49.5PCmhz

If it were me I would get one 16Mb simm, for total 20Mb, which is in the chart. Only because I like keeping single sided with single sided if possible...have seen less quirks that way 😀
