Yeah I came to the conclusion that 2041 is best a couple of years ago when I was exploring different A3D games on a MX300 myself. Elite Force in particular has flipped channels if you use 2048. 2048 also has that horrible partially complete EAX emulation.

QSound is an upmix post processing effect, not an API to be coded for. I'm not sure that's true with later QSound. But the only implementation I know of is the Thunderbird chips. There were only ever 3 hardware audio API's present, Sensaura, EAX and A3D. There's also QSound with the VLSI Thunderbird 128/Avenger. :) Sensaura was certainly very popular indeed. Anyone try the DVI on Quadro 2 Pro with a high resolution monitor? I have a "SGI V3" GeForce 256 DDR with DVI that can't handle my 1920x1200 monitor. I also have a GeForce3 DVI and it works fine.

Apparently Windows 8.1 requires some instructions that Socket 939 CPUs don't support. Windows 8.0 didn't require them though. Interesting. I was going to experiment with 8.1x64 on my Abit AN8 setup but it reboots before setup loads.
