Are you pulling data through USB 2.0 when playing games? Is there hardware sharing an IRQ with the USB 2.0?

Requires PCI 2.2 or 2.3. VIA MVP3 is PCI 2.1. Sometimes you get lucky with these requirements but if it's not POSTing... Try each PCI slot and have no other PCI cards present since sometimes cards don't get along.

What version of Windows are you running? Did you try assigning it an IRQ in the BIOS? 98SE. The BIOS reports the card having 3 IRQs for 3 USB controllers. I guess that puts it as 2+2+1 for its USB ports to controllers. I also tried disabling the mobo USB and all other unneeded ports so I don't …

It did cause POST trouble on my Abit 440BX depending on PCI slot. The ASUS K7M simply didn't detect it but would POST.

I thought the problem might be PCI 2.2 requirement but AMD 751 supports PCI 2.2. 440BX is definitely PCI 2.1 however. The NEC cards seem to specify PCI 2.1 support so I will grab one of those and try it.

What cards have you guys used that work reliably on old boards? I have a card with a VIA controller and it isn't even detected by 440BX or AMD 750. It does work on newer chipsets like KT266 though.

I put a Voodoo3 into a tweaked out 5x86 160MHz setup years ago. It managed about 15 FPS with simple 'ol Jedi Knight. Zoom. Maybe something like the Shadow Warrior 3dfx blur edition would run at a nice pace. But I am skeptical.
