Yes, SoundBlaster (always?) works, but the entire point of this is to get that beautiful midi running! Remember, if the game is so old that it doesn't support General Midi or at least a Roland MT-32, then you won't be getting any soundfont-based wave table synthesis out of it. Some older DOS games …
