Re: FastDoom. A new Doom port for DOS, optimized to be as fast as possible for 386/486 personal computers!

Hi, When i run FDoom (or FDoon13H or any of the other modes) the game launches, will play the opening demo and then automatically quite back to DOS with a timedemo result. This is happening now even if I havent started the game with the timedemo command... any ideas why this might be happening? …

Re: FastDoom. A new Doom port for DOS, optimized to be as fast as possible for 386/486 personal computers!

Re: FastDoom. A new Doom port for DOS, optimized to be as fast as possible for 386/486 personal computers!

Maybe you can test UniVBE 5.3 and the FDOOMVBR.EXE executable, it's the most compatible configuration for older video cards. I've tested an ATI Mach64 VT2 PCI and it works fine for me, using both UniVBE and the native VBIOS. I'll try 64vbe, maybe it's incompatible. I wish I had an ISA ATI Mach64 to …

Re: FastDoom. A new Doom port for DOS, optimized to be as fast as possible for 386/486 personal computers!

I can’t seem to get VBE working on my ISA Mach64, even using 64vbe. 64vbe is supposed to enable vesa 2.0 on ati cards similar to univbe, and even though it mentions 320x200 8bit in the readme, the utility doesn’t seem to give me an 8bit when I use the supplied VesaTest programme. As such, fdoomvbr …

Benchmarks for my bridgeboard Vortex GoldenGate TI486SXLC at 50mhz (8k cache, 16bit external bus) in an Amiga 3000D. All tested with one level of green border. Machine has an ATI Mach64 ISA, SB AWE64 ISA, 16MB 60ns ram, 512MB IDE DOM. Common FDoom parameters are -mono -fps -saturn -near -melt. …

Re: FastDoom. A new Doom port for DOS, optimized to be as fast as possible for 386/486 personal computers!

I think i need to apologise to @viTi95 for my post this morning - i think my instability issues are now caused by hardware, not the latest fdoom release. the issue seems to be some faulty dip ram i added to the amiga recently. i noticed that other stuff running on the bridgeboard now wasnt stable - …

Re: FastDoom. A new Doom port for DOS, optimized to be as fast as possible for 386/486 personal computers!

Anyone else getting some random lockups with version 0.8.1? With both fdoom and fdoom13h This is with my TI486SXLC bridgeboard. Sometimes the machine will hard lockup whilst playing, sometimes it hard locks on quitting (for example once it’s completed a timedemo). If I go back to 0.8 or previous …
