Hmm, so you think it might be some kind of resource conflict with the way the PCI slots are mapped? Alright, I'll try moving it to another slot then. EDIT: Well I'll be damned! I moved the Ethernet card to the lowest PCI slot and now everything works fine, apparently!

Worked on getting my Aptiva working good. Replaced the failing AGP card, upgraded the RAM to 256MB, and installed all the necessary drivers. The Aptiva certainly is, the RS/6000 is currently more frustrating than beautiful and I haven't even tried to fire it up yet!

In my experience 98 needs RAM more than CPU speed. I acquired a Packard Bell desktop with a Pentium 75MHz and 8MB of RAM that someone had forced 98 onto and it was basically unusable, and my Libretto with 16MB needed 98lite to run 98 sufficiently.
