Finally got hold of some useful thickness (4.5mm) thermal pads. Replaced the massively undersized ones, used some threadlock on the standoffs as they were coming out of the heatsink, and applied some thermal grizzly to the GPU core itself. Oh god yes you need a decent heatsink on that, even if you intend to run with a fan it’ll need to be a fair size to cope with the heat. I don’t believe I have a Slot 1 CPU of any kind that has anything smaller than about 1.5” thick.

For playing ALL Glide games you’ll find that some games require Voodoo Graphics and/or Voodoo II, some are speed sensitive, and later games need the horsepower of a more powerful CPU. In short, whilst you probably can build a one size fits all PC, it might be easier to have a couple.

As above, ADC power. ADC being a combination DVI-D, USB and power. You can convert back to DVI with adapters or even make your own. Mine only had one. It was dead though, would only provide 5v, not 3.3v or 4v. I replaced with two (and two new heatsinks so they matched), and it’s been great since running an overclocked Am5x86-P75.

The Olivetti hardware division split from the software (banking mainly) division in the 90s where the software side became OlSy, and later bought out by Wang, and finally Getronics. Unfortunately all my fathers contacts are in the software side of the business and not hardware.
