I have a GA-BX2000 with similar problems. Fans spin, no POST. Two swollen caps next to AGP slot.

Even if the efficiency is poor, my PIII 866 & GF2 only eats ~70W from the wall in 3Dmark 2000. It is possible to crank the numbers up with multiple drives, cards, fans, etc though. I should use it more often.

How does one take care of these overly brittle plastics and prevent their degradation as well as stop possible small cracks from getting larger? What kind of glue or treatment/maintenance should be used? Hot water, heat gun?

Odd-looking passive SECC2 heatsink, came with a 600/100 coppermine. What kind of a machine is this from as it (heatsink) doesn't quite fit slot1 with the standard retention mechanism on? There are no notches on the sides. 643_2.jpg These heatsinks are meant for 1st generation SECC retention …

Unless it was some enormously overvalued crypto units, I'd say that was a bargain. Same here. Is "one grand" a unit? Also, is that graphics card a 2D card with a voodoo1 as a daughterboard or what? All the Voodoo experts around here, don't laugh, I'm a confessing agnostic towards the church of 3dfx …

I measured watts. Measuring equipment says max. around 73 watts. 73 by 0,85 is 62,05. That is 62W for PIII 866 and GF2 Ultra. https://streamable.com/x8mybh

Power delivery problem? Power delivery has been an issue with multiple early GB boards. But I'd imagine that'd show itself in the form of lockups and general instability. My GA-BX2000 even has a special Voodoo jumper. http://www.plasma-online.de/index.html?content=http%3A//www.plasma-online.de/ …
