Thanks guys, here’s a pic of what’s under the sticker. Can anyone recommend which package I should go with from the eBay link? Alternatively could I purchase a burned eprom off anyone while I figure out how to get setup?

So I inserted this guy in backwards into a Tomato 4DPS board this morning and killed it. I’ve confirmed the motherboard still works by swapping in a bios chip from a Lucky 486 board with the same SiS chipset. What do I need to burn a new bios for the 4DPS? Can this chip be salvaged? Found a jumper combo that’s now working with the l2 cache. I don’t think the manual I’m referencing is accurate. I’ll post pics tomorrow.

Anyone know if the Sidewinder works with Quake, Doom, or Duke 3D in pure DOS mode with the mentioned driver? Do any controllers allow for shoulder button strafe in DOS?

So 800x600 runs about the same, at least in timedemo 1, maybe 1fps lower. I went ahead and tried SLI, why not right? I’d read here there isn’t any performance improvements and with glQuake I can confirm, maybe even hurting performance slightly. I’m sure the “POD100” is struggling too feed both cards …

It might be worthwhile to try out a few different versions of 3DFX MiniGL . EDIT - it seems that the latest MiniGL versions are optimized for an Athlon CPU, so something older might work better for you. Installing Windows 95 instead of 98SE might also provide a slight boost on your system. Thanks …

Okay I removed one of my two simm modules and cranked up the AC in my house and I’ve been running at 22.6 FPS settings for about 30 minutes.

Had a friend perform the voltage mod and now I’m able to launch Quake at 100 MHz CPU speed. I’ve had to adjust some memory timings for stability, currently hitting 20fps. This is in version 1.08 with one tick away from full screen. 15 year old me would of been quite happy playing Quake at this speed …
