Re: DOSBox vs DOS 6.22 in DOSBox

Some DOS Games (like Pizza Connection, the German version of Pizza Tycoon) do require a proper DOS on an HDD image with mouse and sound drivers installed for the music/sound to work. But other than that there doesn't seem to be that much of an advantage over regular DOSBox.

Re: Xcom : UFO Defense on CD (CD-i)

in DOS
A lot of things are not accurate at Mobygames, it for example calls the original title "UFO: Enemy Unknown" the "european" title and insists on the game being called X-COM UFO Defence. It's like saying "It's the Sorcerer's Stone not Philosopher's Stone!111". At least it offers some good things like …

Re: Which Win version for late 90's games?

in Windows
XP should be the most compatible with late 90's games, other than that you can also further downgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows 98, as long as you have all drivers available for those OS versions. Though, most games should still sort-of work on Windows 10. Especially with the "Integer Scaling" mode …

Keep in mind that you are not allowed to skip letters when mounting drives. An example with lots of diskette images mounted for a Windows 3.11 install on the normal DOSBox 7.4: Spoiler #imgmount a c:\Games\DOSBox\Games\winimg\disk01.img -t floppy #imgmount b c:\Games\DOSBox\Games\winimg\disk02.img …

Re: Worst LucasArts/Sierra adventure game

LucasArts - The Dig, horrible typical american style story. Characters that act like retards aka typical american. Entire setting is meant to feel deep and impactful and all that but is instantly deleted by the fact that you only have 3 characters instead of a whole team while they all act as if …

Re: Which software to preserve CDs?

You can't even use .iso if your game-CD contains audio tracks, like WarCraft II, Dungeon Keeper, Fury³ and many more... Really? I have a different game called Q-POP, the CD contains Audio that you can also play back in a real CD Player, works just fine as .iso as well. Well, really. ISO can't have …

Re: Which software to preserve CDs?

@darry @Benedikt the programme I use is called ImgBurn https://www.imgburn.com/ It's basically 1 click to create an .iso file from any CD. Interesting to know that .iso doesn't support audio tracks by default, but whatever that programme does when it creates the .iso makes it work, so it's still a …
