Problem was solved by installing Geforce GT730, which runs fine on both systems.

Oh, my bad - it was Stalker COP, not SOC. It runs bad under WinXP in DX9. It runs well in Win11 in DX11. Funny part is that it does not work at all under Win11 in DX9 mode.

What for? There is nothing weird about GPU-Z readings, pretty much what you may expect. I can confirm however, that under Win11 with DX11 card works flawlessly, which pretty much narrows down a problem to DX9 -> R7 corelation. EDIT: DXVK makes the game crash at startup.

I'll try it, will see. In meantime I will also try same game in Windows 11 (machine is dual boot) if the same problem occur. I wonder if it shall matter that R7 id PCiex x8 card and HD8490 is x16.

There are many information on caps, but - in practice - I follow just a few simple rules: - do not buy cheapest ones, - use low ESRs, - always check capacitance (and polarity) before soldering a cap to the board, for new caps I consider 5% discrepancy OK (some say 10%), - use same capacitance as the …

I soldered a cap from dead CPU (which turned out to be Duron) and it works, I'll install Win98 and then SuperPi to check if it is stable.

Yeah, I thought of that, but there are no guarantees that they're all the same. Plus I measured them incircuit and got different results for each one. I'd do it as last resort, when everything else fails. I'm also considering taking one cap from dead Athlon, it seems to be the same size.

Did you disable onboard FDD controller? Your motherboard is one of those rebranded Intel boards which tend to have limitations deliberately implemented by software (like crappy BIOSes).

Update: I guess I found the culprit. I found that dxdiag reports 'general failure' in sound section. That's why I updated DX from 8.0 to version 9.0c and now almost all games have sound (except of Moto Racer). It still crashes most of the times it reboots in dos mode. I fit can't boot with MMX then you probably have voltage regulation issues. Before you try flashing BIOS in other motherboard, maybe try swapping BIOS chips and check if your previous board works with it, and then if it can boot with MMX.
