Are you trying to upgrade to a specific point or to max it out? Because a k6-3+ 400 mhz could probably be made to work here. And with it you might see better performance with no motherboard cache

Slow yes, the point: because we “maybe” can! Idea is to maybe put a voodoo or random Indescript 3d pci card in a late model isa system. That may have found its self with eisa or vl bus in another life and would have been able to do this. Performance hit still, sure. Fun, yes!

Yep 😀 You can use calamitylime’s power adapter with it. (Or your own power supply) I found it is far cheaper and easier to just use external power supplies. Also the quality of psu that you can bring to the table increases with the ability to use an external one if making overclocking attempts.

My understanding is 512k is required on boards that you want to put lots of ram into (also more tag ram is needed) in order to avoid slower cached ram memory ranges. Which usually ends up where windows wants to use memory.
