The TIP127 PNP transistor used as part of the VRM circuit is probably the weakest link here. The TDP rating between a P100 vs P200 is 50% higher: ~10W vs ~15W. Better keep an eye on the temperature and consider at least a fan over the VRM ❄ good eye, yeah that heatsink looks a little small. I …

Sometimes they are rated at x at xyz but if you drop latencies to uvw you can now run at clock speed y to an limited extent mhz and latencies/timings are interchangable.

I recently re did the mods to my tillamooks and in doing so, all the multipliers now appear to be accessible to me. At 66fsb I can go through the different jumper settings and attain these results 133mhz (2x) 166mhz (2.5x) 200mhz (3x) 233mhz (3.5x) 266mhz (4x) Unfortunately no 4.5x is among them.. …

I did this mod to my tillamook, It pulls tillamook bf2 over to ss7 bf2 position and then injects it with 3.3v from vcc3 using a 330ohm resistor. I did a test on my tillamook. 133mhz at 2.15v It gets warm enough that I have to keep it cool with my hand. At 1.6-1.9v it may be possible but 2.1v is a bit too much voltage for no heatsink Here is a pic of the tillamook mods I did to my 266 chips.

Do not run that cpu anywhere near 2.8v That is a 1.9v processor. I don't think I'd ever have the guts to run one at 2.8V, but I can say that the K6-3 (original) isn't hard to damage. I had a K6-3 450MHz 2.2V back when new. My cooling wasn't very good and it ran hot, usually between 60-65C. I had a BIOS alarm set at 65C but I'm sure it could have gotten a few …
