This particular model was only sold as a 286/16, no other cpu options were available. So oscillators should be the right ones for 16MHz. The strange thing is that OP cannot set the speed to 16MHz in BIOS, but I'm not familiar with its BIOS screens. Perhaps some photos could help. https://drive. …

The CPU does not have a multiplier. It runs at whatever frequency the board runs it at. If you can not set a higher speed on the board your best bet is overclocking by changing out whatever generates the clock (most often an oscillator can). Something with jumpers on it is a good start. ESS based cards are as cheap as chips and have better output then moist early SB cards. Hello! I'm experimenting some trouble with my AWE64 Value card. MIDI music playback is faulty, with skipping notes and not all sounds being reproduced by the sound card. Physically it seems to be decent, with no damage whatsoever. Thank you for your replies!!
