I'm sure FC will get a proper remaster at 64-bit at some point, as Crysis did. It makes no sense to leave that game on the table, when it's so classic and people want a good single-player FPS game. I'm sure with some code polishing and replacement, it could be put out on today's systems.

The S-YXG50 VSTi is the gold standard for us all, at the moment and I am happy to use it as my default MIDI device. I only wish we could get the S-YXG100 PVL opened up like that, so that we could see what XG can really do!

According to what I just dug up on the music forums, they sell cracked software - usually outdated versions - loaded with malware, specifically crypto-mining jacks, so you should give your machine a thorough cleansing with security software and preferably wipe it and re-install everything.

How does the XG MIDI on that card sound? It looks like a good, basic XG card for MIDI listening, though absolutely worthless for creation. It also has Sensaura 3D, so it should be interesting to test that out with some good headphones.

We need to know what OS you use. I don't know the exact timeline for those, but I'm pretty sure the drives were no longer supported after XP, as they were phased out around that time, due to the proliferation of optical drives that could record discs.

Yes, some game composers did use Roland Sound Canvas modules to do their work in GM, with GS embellishments. That's why many titles and GM game music files sound best on GS, while being slightly off on XG, and "normal" on GM synths of good quality.
