Screenshot Colors

This is probably known but I couldn't find any info on it. Basically, for some games I can't make correct screenshots. They just have distorted colors. Like this one: I just can't seem to get it right 😒 Any ideas?

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

I've got a problem with paths that I'm not sure whether it's D-Fend RL or DosBox that's causing it. I'm using the portable installation on my USB HDD. I don't want to use short (8-letter) dos directories and for most games long ones do work flawless. I'm having problems with Keen Dreams though. It …

Re: WTF- Gabriel Knight Vogons Page

in Milliways
talking of this, i have the following problem, i do own a "Best of Sierra" version of this game, the cd includes Gabriel Knight and Earthsiege, both in subfolders on the disc. Basically what's on the original disc is in a "gabriel" subfolder on this cd. The XP installer from that page does not …

Might & Magic II crashes

i have problems running Might & Magic II, i read in another topic that it works flawless (and it's the loadfix example in the readme) so i'm pretty confused i start it using "loadfix mm2" the New World Computing Logo Screen pops up but after that the game just crashes (without having done anything), …

Re: SVGA and VESA Video Cards

@S3 Virge DX Acceleration i had a S3 Virge DX (the ELSA Victory 3DX) back then which was bundled with the 3D-Updated version of Mechwarrior 2 iirc, it is true, this card HAS 3D Acceleration (also runs some 3D-Only Benchmarks) but the best fps i could ever get in any 3D game was something like 18fps …

Re: DOSBox front end and game auditing idea.

nah MobyGames is nice to use once in a while, but overall it's far from perfect , has some flaws and is missing a lot of stuff additionally to that, it's online, and i was thinking about something you can use offline (maybe distribute it on dvd) edit: oh yeah, moby is also missing a lot of games ( …

Re: DOSBox front end and game auditing idea.

honestly, i can't see this happen for various reasons, actually i'm part of the NSRT (SNES ROM auditing tool) team so i'm not a total newb ;) keep in mind that i'm thinking of all games say up to 2000, if the program would only do disk-era games some problems wouldn't exist - maximum file size, …

Re: Hi, check out my retro system

in PC Emulation
So youre saying that all Win95-only games like Phantasmagoria, Toonstruck will work flawlessly on Win98 SE? mh no i wouldn't agree with that, i'd guess 1-3 games in a hundred won't work, but on the other hand you've also got the same problem just by using the latest DirectX version you need... with …

Re: Hi, check out my retro system

in PC Emulation
forget what i said about the PCI sound card, ISA will get you into less problems, stick with it if you can live without the newer old games than that system should be enough, a game like Prince of Persia did run smooth on my 386DX with 8MB RAM, toonstruck is one of the hardest games to get to run, …

Re: Hi, check out my retro system

in PC Emulation
i'd definetly update to 64MB... and i would exchange the SB against a PCI Card, both the Matrox and the S3 are very bad 3D Cards, you won't be able to play a few of the games you mentioned (like Pandemonium). i'd go with the Matrox maybe and buy some Voodoo 2 card as an add-on... i don't know the …
