I get no tearing in 3dfx with it set to 15, but dynamic lighting has always slowed the game down too much for me. Increasing it does seem to help some, but not enough to make it playable with dynamic lighting. Perhaps a difference in cards?

I have never seen this tearing. Could it be with older cards? Do you have a screenshot? The missing files are mainly because of the 2006 VU release, which most of the games came from. These were developed by a 3rd party, I think from Russia that had no idea about SCI games and VU cared little. They …

I have modified my patch for the 2006 VU King's Quest Collection for the GOG KQ collections. It will find any of the installed GOG KQ games. Actually, the VOGONS Drivers is not part the VOGONS forum It was started by a VOGONS forum member, but uses a matching theme. While you could call it a companion site, it is a separate entity.

OK, it is looking for a file to ID the collection. Drop a file in "New Folder (3)" and name it "SierraLauncher.exe". Then see if the patch runs.

My patch might work if the directory structure was changed to match the 2006 VU collection before running the patch. i.e. "kq4", "kq5". "kq6" instead of GOG's "Kings Quest 4", "Kings Quest 5" and "Kings Quest 6". At least the patch would find all of the individual games' folders.

The GOG collections are based on the 2006 VU collections. These were a hodgepodge of games from different sources. Some from earlier collections and some that seem as if they came from warez sources. They were assembled by people that didn't really know what they were doing and ripped out files that …
