You can just mount the game's folder as C: if you edit the LEGEND.INI to: KEYBOARD=NORMAL MOUSE=MOUSE FLCDATA=.\ GAMEDATA=.\ PICDATA=.\ VOCDATA=.\ SAVEDATA=.\

Go to the "DOSBox-0.74" folder in your Start Menu, open the "Options" folder and run "DOSBox 0.74 Options".

It may have been from a shell extension, but I think that it was just native to Win9x. I remember it from just calling up a drive's property sheet (on the first tab) in Explorer.

If your problem is with shortcuts for portable or non-fixed drives, you use batch files instead of shortcuts so you can use relative paths instead of absolute paths.

I have no driver loaded for my Creative game port, either, but it still passes MIDI signals on my Win7 x64. Works fine with my MT-32. Nor do I have any problem with my Soundfont Bank Manager. Paddan1000 probably only needs something like Putzlowitsch's to select his MIDI device.
