I have found that it will run in XP, but will not install in XP. You could try to install on a another non-XP PC or on a virtual 9x machine and transfer the installed files to your XP box.

The 2nd collection had 2. That is what I used to make my patch from. The VU collection has 1.4.

Yeah, should be possible to make it boot Linux and then run DOSBox from there. I think you're missing the point. I think his idea is to boot to real DOS. He was only using DOSBox to transfer the system to the USB drive, but I don't think that DOSBox has the SYS command. Perhaps this should be in …

Install the game normally, but modify the shortcut to point to SIERRAW.EXE instead of SIERRAWS.EXE, but you will still not be able to get past the firecracker bug. If you get the new collection you can upgrade KQ7 to version 2 and play it in DOSBox to avoid this bug.

I like the idea of a patches listing. It might be nice to include information about after market ports, such as the Phantasmagoria 2 to DOS or LBAWin.

Maybe merge it with the Mac forum and call it "Other Emulation". This would keep Mac users from asking DOSBox questions in it.

You don't move the file, just drop it on the DOSBox shortcut from the folder that the game is in and it will start. A frontend may be your answer: DOSBox Game Launcher
