Re: King's Quest VI CD voice problems

Mount a "C:" drive in DOSBox and mount your CD. Change to your CD drive and type "INSTALL" to install to game from within DOSBox. This will set the paths in your RESOURCE.CFG file to what DOSBox sees. To play the game, mount the drives the same way and change to the game's directory and start the …

Re: GK2 Problem

in Windows
I did manage to grab the no interlace patch that he postedf on the Mega-Tokyo boards, before he made his installer. I also got NewRisingSun's GK1 patch that he took down after Endroz came out with his GK1 installer. Of course you could always use his installer, copy over the DOS executables and …

Re: GK2 Problem

in Windows
Just install the DOS version of the game. DOSBox runs great under Win64. This is why I wish that Endroz's installer gave you the option to install Win or DOS. Or best of all, to make stand alone patches available.

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

A couple of thoughts, it might be nice to have the option to save the conf file in either a single directory or in the game's directory. The ability to launch a game in DOSBox from the GUI for test purposes to make decisions on settings would be handy. Although this would not be part of this …

Endroz's installer, sadly, only installs the Windows version. NewRisingSun had developed a patch that worked with both, but withdrew it after Endroz released his installer. I wish that Endroz would release just patches in a zip, too, for the DOS version.

Re: Front Ends

What I would like to see in a Windows frontend would be one that could be invoked from a context menu selection on a DOS executable (like VDMS's Launchpad) and can generate a shortcut to launch a game in DOSBox with a custom dosbox.conf, preferably in that game's folder for archiving purposes. The …

Re: sound help

KQ4 and KQ6 do not get the audio hardware initialization error, but KQ5 does. I would say that he needs to run INSTALL to setup his audio hardware. The CD versions of KQ5 and 6 also need to have the CD drive mounted, too.

Re: King's Quest VI

in DOS
I was actually hoping you wouldn't and that I would have to start the game and find out the solution Wink Hehe. Do you really need an excuse to replay it?

Re: King's Quest VI

The Windows version works nicly in DOSBox. I'm just trying to get better MIDI sound in Win3.11

Re: CVS quirk

the menu bar is a very nice addition. I'll second that. Ykhwong's is a very nice build. It is also nice to have the Windows 3.1 File Manager only show mounted drives, though it still doesn't seem to show a mounted floppy.
