Usind Dfend Reloaded/Dosbox under Windows XP SP3 I got Master of Magic to run. Even with the intro movie and with sound. What if you run it from the command prompt (after running "insti4cd.exe" and "save") ? Did you try this yet? I reckon one of those is supposed to change the current directory somehow. What could make it slow are the settings in the configfile of dosbox. Are you sure that your pc can handle 45000 cycles ?
