I've had this behavior, it was caused by a power supply in one case and by an empty cmos battery on certain boards.

Some VLB cards have a jumper for the CPU bus speed.

There's a warning sticker on the PSU saying "This equipment must be earthed". Is this warning relevant to how I have 'rearranged' this PSU? This could also be related to the 5th cable that goes to the power switch, it has to be screwed to the case.

Maybe it was in a locker with some chemicals... Btw I use simple "printer paper" (used like sand paper) to wipe the contacts. The paper becomes dark green/grey and the contacts shiny. Even if the contacts seem clean the paper still takes off some dirt.

Wrong mounting. Create a directory c:\dosgames and move the screamer directory in there. Then in DOSBox mount c c:\dosgames.

That's the MAC problem that already occurred in the other thread. A particular function is not availible on the MAC, there might be some pcap compilation flags but I didn't take a closer look.

I think they assign it depending on which number is availible at creation, Windows stores two names per file on the file system. Create PROGRA~1 Create PROGRA~2 Create PROGRA~3 Delete PROGRA~2 Remaining: ~1 and ~3

I don't think these two .conf versions are compatible. But they are not so different that moving the changes from one to another would be particularly hard.

DOSBox could read the 8.3 DOS name at least from Windows (there is a Win32 function) but it's a platform specific call which the devs don't like.

In my build you can try Alt-Pause, then Settings -> keyboard for the keymapper. On my computer the GUI crashes though after exit, so save your updated layout. Is M193 a printer model? There seem to be some ESC-codes (027) in there but if the printer is as old as the computer I doubt that standard …
