It's a professor problem, not a DOSBox one. Some of them tend to not learn anything new and continue teaching their old crap. However, at the university you are not supposed to learn useful things but to show that you are smart enough to be able to learn them yourself 😉

Might be caused by this change (I got feedback by E-Mail) 2008-05-25 19:24 c2woody * src/dos/dos_ioctl.cpp: fix Fable cdrom installer (odd harddrive check) 05-25 AEP build works, later builds don't.

> OK if you say so, but I have had it running for about 6 months. Try without, maybe you made another change together with allowio which actually made it work. Other than NTVDM, DOSBox never executes port I/O directly, unless you have some nonstandard build.

DOSBox DOS doesn't support swapfile, but the purpose of the swap file is to extend RAM so more RAM could help your problem. Swapfile probably works if you boot an image file with DOS and Windows on it in DOSBox.
