A few games have native support for OPL3, as well as the dual-OPL2 setup used in the SB Pro. Interplay's Lord of the Rings vol 2: The Two Towers is one game I remember having some nice stereo OPL music.

I think most of the 16-bit ISA Creative cards have OPL3 chips instead of the Adlib's OPL2, but I believe it's backwards-compatible in most cases.

Definitely the MT-32, and then maybe the AWE32+DB60XG. You'd get MT-32 + MPU-401 General MIDI capability with that setup I think. Personally I have an MT-32 and SC-88 external synths and I use them with DOSBox via a USB MIDI cable.

If it's running under DOSBox then how will it think it's running under Windows? You could try mounting some other directory in DOSBox and then making a fake c:\docume~1\alluse~1\desktop\ tree from there. The game probably checks some environment variables though to find the path.

The valid set of rates is listed in the default dosbox.conf. 192000 is not one of them.
